Pool Time

[Jackie steps in again for this blog entry, while Brian travels on business]

Tuesday should have been a fun and easy day for Graham as the Hellcats squadron had their aquatic screening session and got to cool off in the pool. It was another hot day in Colorado Springs so the escape from the heat would have been greatly appreciated.

Where's Waldo (Graham)?

This should have been an easy exercise for Graham when you think of how many hours he has spent in the pool since he started with the Plymouth Lifetime swim club at about 8 years of age, through pentathlon training and swimming for the Wayzata High School varsity team.

If the basic is determined to be weak in swimming, they have to take a swim class through PT.

Having an easy day would have been a great confidence booster. Finally! Something that came easily that he could knock out of the park!

Have seen this entry technique a thousand times at swim practices and meets!

Best of all, you can tell that the squadron is really starting to gel – having this time to together to laugh and joke around would have been a welcome time of levity.

It’s fun to note that the guys are going to need their heads shaved again soon. Their hair is starting to grow back!

Also, here is a photo of who we believe is Graham’s roommate, as it stands, because as soon as a basic cadet starts to gel with a roommate, USAFA will switch them out. We expect that Graham will experience two or three roommate changes this school year. Nothing is easy at USAFA! But always done with a purpose. His name is Drew Martin, a lacrosse player from Long Island.
