Field Day!
Field Day was today, and it has
been 16 days since I-Day! Sixteen days since we dropped Graham off.
Class of 2022 motto is
"Strength and Sacrifice". And today was a showcase for just that. As I
mentioned in yesterday’s blog, Field Day is the culminating event for BCT 1
otherwise known as Beast 1. The eight Squadrons compete against one another
during field day in order to earn the title of “BCT 1 Field Day Champions”.
Graham is in the Hellcats squadron, and their color is yellow.

The
squads compete in 8 events: Distance Run, Dodgeball, Steeple Chase, Warrior
Relay, Log Relay, Sprint Relay, and both Male and Female Tug of War.
They
get to show what true teamwork is while competing hard against other squadrons.
Instilling within themselves the Warrior Ethos brought out by physical
competition and the will to win in the pursuit of excellence.
Here
are the event winners:

I wasn’t able to find any photos
of Graham in action, after reviewing just under 4500 posted photos from the
USAFA WebGuy team, but I’m guessing he participated in one of the relay events
as I found of a photo of him stretching just prior to.

After
the Closing Ceremonies, the Basics marched back up to their dorms, cleaned up,
and headed to Noon Meal Formation for lunch.
