AFT
The Basics participated in their
first AFT!
The AFT, otherwise known as the
Aerobic Fitness Test was run by all squadrons this morning. It appears they
completed the AFT on the Falcon’s outdoor track. At the end of each lap the
Cadets had to hold up their fingers to show the number of laps they were on
until they completed the run.
The AFT is scored as follows:

It looked like Graham did fine. I’m
guessing he was somewhere right behind the lead pack, from the photo stream that I
saw.

Tomorrow is Field Day. One of big
parts of Basic Cadet Training (BCT) also known as Beast. It is the
culminating event of 1st Beast, before 2nd Beast starts which is the
real-deal BCT (what you think of when you think of military training).
Field Day is certainly one of the most
fun events in BCT. The squadrons compete against one another in each field day
event to hopefully earn the title of "BCT 1 Field Day Champions".
Here is a rundown of the Field Day events:

For those families that are close by
and willing to make the trip to USAFA, Field Day starts at 0630 and ends about
1030 on the Athletic Fields. Spectators are allowed to sit on the bleachers
next to the athletic fields, but are not allowed to interact with Basics in any
way.
