Founders Day Parade - 2021
Founders Day is a traditional celebration of the legacy and future of the Air Force Academy and its founders. On 1 April, 1954, President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed Public Law 325, 83rd Congress, 2nd Session, and authorized the establishment of the United States Air Force Academy. This year was the 67th Anniversary.
Secretary of the Air Force Harold Talbot announced in June 1954 that the Academy would be built in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Cadets marched on Stillman Parade Field to mark the occasion. Note that you can click on the photo to see it larger.

Additional Updates
Cadet Maas made the Dean's List once again. So he is 100% for making the Dean's List, with only three semesters remaining.
Cadet Maas did get his summer schedule, with some details being worked out:
·
May 29 – June 19: He will be at USAFA. He will be one of the “cadre” for the summer
seminar. That means he will be in a leadership position looking over the high
school kids that come out for a week-long seminar. You might recall that
between his HS junior and senior year, he did the seminar, which gives them a
taste for what it’s like to attend the Academy.
·
June 19 – July
10: He will be in an internship position. He doesn’t know much more about
this at this time. We don’t know if USAFA finds an internship position for him,
or if he needs to find one himself. Hopefully, USAFA does the logistics, as it
is very late in the game to try and find a summer internship position on your
own. The upside is, he could actually be home for it if he is to find something
on his own. Jackie has plenty of contacts if it comes to that. Otherwise, we
can only guess he’d be doing an internship either at USAFA or at one of the
bases around the country. More to come, when we know something.
·
July 10 – July
31: His 3-week summer break.
His finals will be between May 10 -14. 2021 graduation is May 26. What he doesn’t know is if he can come home for a bit between his last final and graduation (all cadets have to attend graduation), or if he needs to stay there.
Here he is doing some fitness testing. Pullups & standing long jump.
